Confined spaces can be dangerous. The contractor in this image has had to cut a hole above a hearth to access the chimney chase to gain access into the attic to retrieve some dead animals. It is important to work with proper radio communication, safety gear, and have at least two to three technicians in this situation to assist if someone runs into trouble. In tight quarters, like attics and crawlspaces, often times there are contaminents, heat, and/or lack of oxygen. It is important to work as a team to keep those involved safe. Remember, communication is vital. |
